1st Day
Hi everyone!! Thanks for all of the "well wishes" and "congratulations" comments on my last post. I meant to hit publish and instead I accidentally hit delete and most of them went away, but I was able to read them and I appreciate the positive feedback.
I just got home from my first day at work and I feel really good. I had Orientation this morning and then I went straight to the warehouse where I met all of the girls and tried to restore some sort of order to the department. I forgot how much drama goes along with 32 girls that are in rehab. It's a lot of craziness and petty little arguments and A LOT of fraternizing between the guys and the girls and in between all of that we are trying to maintain production. I think I have my work cut out for me but I really look forward to the challenge. I already can tell who most of the hard workers are and of course who the slackers are.
My work schedule is actually Tuesday - Saturday and I'm so happy!!!!! I love having off on Monday and I know that Saturdays are going to be really relaxed in the warehouse anyway. My boss is awesome. I knew him from when I was in the program. I went and visited my old counselor and I get to eat lunch for free everyday in the cafeteria so that's a nice little perk.
The pay isn't huge but the benefits are pretty nice and it's full time thankfully so I'm really feeling good about everything.
My goal for tonight is to find a new AA or NA meeting to go to during the week since I can't go to my noon meetings anymore. It's really a nice opportunity for me to meet some new people in recovery and hopefully make some new friends.
GO RAVENS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You have been given one of the best opportunities ever, you have been given a second chance at a real life and future. We don't know one another personally, but from your writings something inside me says, "This girl is going to make it. She's going to be a success at whatever she chooses to do." Grab life for all it's worth Carmen and remember stop for a minute here and there and look at the rainbow and smile. Watch the rising sunset and realize it represents new opportunities and possibilities. Your life and the sunrise have much in common I think. Follow your dreams, Sunrise. You can hold the world in the palm of your hand and reap the greatest of rewards.... happiness and prosperity. Be well always.
